1 Person Injured in 2 Clinton Fires
CLINTON, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say one person has been injured in one of two fires fought by Clinton firefighters.
The Clinton Herald reports that firetrucks were dispatched to a house a little after 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Battalion Chief Michael McQuistion says an occupant couldn't get out of the house and was rescued as firefighters put out the flames. The person was taken to a hospital.
The fire case is being investigated.
Another Clinton fire was reported about 2 a.m. Sunday at the Odeon nightclub.
Clinton Fire Chief Mike Brown says the blaze extensively damaged the building. Brown says the club owners were in their apartment attached to the club and escaped unharmed after being alerted by an alarm.
The fire cause is being investigated.
