FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa - Firefighters extinguished an electrical fire that displaced three people Monday evening, officials said.
Firefighters responded to a house fire at 207 E. State St. around 6:30 p.m. The residents were home at the time of the fire, but managed to get out safely, Fayette Fire Chief Jason Rohde said. Officials believe the cause to be electrical, starting somewhere in the walls. The fire was contained to the house.
Red Cross provided food, clothing and lodging for the three displaced residents.
