One Person Injured in Ultralight Helicopter Crash Near Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa - One person was injured following an ultralight helicopter crash in Waterloo.

According to the Waterloo Police Department, emergency crews responded to the 3800 block of West Ridgeway Avenue shortly before 1:50 p.m. Monday.

When officers arrived they found that the crash occurred on the north side of Ridgeway Avenue, in a field owned by John Deere and Company. The crash involved a small ultralight helicopter.

The pilot, Ronald Harris, 60, of Waverly was transported to Covenant Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
