BUCHANAN COUNTY - The attorney for a woman accused of killing her son is asking a judge for a change of venue in her upcoming trial.

Michelle Kehoe’s attorney filed a motion last week for a change of venue to either move the trial to another county or draw a jury from another county due to the pretrial publicity the case has garnered, Buchanan County Attorney Allan Vanderhart said.

Michelle Kehoe, of Coralville, who is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and child endangerment causing serious injury — is scheduled to go to trial in Buchanan County District Court on Oct. 28.
A hearing on pending motions and an initial pretrial conference is scheduled for Aug. 26.

Prosecutors said that on Oct. 26, Kehoe drove her sons to a pond near Littleton and bound them with duct tape before cutting their throats.
Sean Kehoe and the body of Seth Kehoe were found the next day.
