Lawsuit Claims Casey's Taped Worker Breast Pumping
GARNER, Iowa (AP) - Casey's General Stores Inc. has been sued by a former employee who says a video camera was placed in an office she'd been using to express breast milk.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports Stepheni Salz gave birth in March. Her lawsuit says that when she returned to work at a Casey's store in Garner, she was told she could use a store office to pump breast milk.
The lawsuit says that on July 28 she discovered a video camera had been installed in it. She says it had been operating since July 15.
She alleges the company violated her privacy and a federal law that says employers must provide a private place women can use for expressing breast milk.
A Casey's spokesman didn't immediately return a call Wednesday.
