Hemophilia Camp Offered in Cedar Rapids
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The 26th annual hemophilia camp is going on in Cedar Rapids right now.
The camp allows kids with blood disorders participate in sports and activities in a safe environment.
Camp Tanager and medical staff from University of Iowa Hospitals teach kids about hemophilia. The campers also do activities such as tie-dying, woodworking, archery and they even get to go to Lost Island.
Participants said one of the best things about the camp is meeting others with the same. Camper Jacob Peiffer said, "It's just a great experience for anyone who has a bleeding disorder or any other disorder that they have a week where it's really fun. "
The Camp Tanager Hemophilia camp is the only one offered in the Midwest.
