Free Car Seat Check Saturday in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – About 90 percent of all car seats are not properly installed, studies show.

Representatives from the Linn County Safe Kids Coalition will help parents or guardians with child safety seat installations as part of “Car Seat Saturday” from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 1 at the Bob Mickey Collision Center, 4813 Center Point Rd. NE.

The safety inspection is free, and no appointment is needed. Participants should bring their vehicle, car seat and child to ensure proper fitting. Educational materials will also be available.

The Linn County Safe Kids Coalition is co-sponsored by the Cedar Rapids police and fire departments.
