H1N1 Death Reported in Madison County

DES MOINES (AP) - The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting another swine flu-related death.

The health department reported Thursday an adult in Madison County with risk factors that increased the chance of complications has died from the H1N1 virus.

With the death, Iowa has confirmed 41 H1N1-related deaths and more than 700 hospitalizations related to the virus.

According to the health department, among those hospitalized, the most common underlying medical conditions were immune-compromised conditions, such as cancer, respiratory ailments and neuromuscular conditions.
