WAUKON - A special H1N1 clinic for children ages 6 month to 35 months will be held on Thursday Nov. 19 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
The H1N1 clinic located at 40 First St. SE, will only be offering to that age group due to the type of vaccine on hand, according to hospital officials. But more clinics for other ages will be scheduled in the near future, officials said.
Future clinics will be for the priority groups established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, which include pregnant women, those who care for or live with a child younger than six months of age; children age six months to four years of age; children age five years to 18 years with underlying conditions putting them at an increased risk for H1N1; and health care providers that work with people at high risk for getting H1N1 including physicians, physician assistants, nurses and respiratory therapy personnel.
