This JustIN: Theatre Cedar Rapids is Coming Back

2/26/2008 - Theatre Cedar Rapids is coming back to downtown. The first show back will be the Mel Brooks favorite, The Producers.

In the meantime, TCR is offering many other shows at their Lindale Mall location. The next show up for TCR is Hair, with School House Rock to follow this summer.

One unique thing I learned about the building today is that the lobby ceiling is quite low. Low, as in 8.5 feet. I asked why. I was told the current lobby used to be where the end of the seating was. And, there is a giant concrete beam at 8.5 feet that makes it too costly to raise the ceiling - here I thought the ceiling was low because historically, people were shorter when the building was built in the 1920's.
