July 3, 2008 - I haven't meant to be away for so long. But, it seemed every time I tried to update this blog I got pulled away to another story.
Web Producer Becky Ogann put a bunch of photos on the site so you can see what the studio looked like when we moved outside for a brief while on Friday, June 13th.
I wanted to put a few up and explain what happened.
We went outside on Friday night.
We didn't really want to go because it's a major headache to get everything organized.
But, we went because we lost power inside.
We were running on a generator, but that generator was water-cooled.
Guess what? With the limited water supply we couldn't use it.
So, we went outside and used a live-truck while we hooked up another generator to the building.

Here, Bruce and Beth are taking a minute to listen to one of us reporters.
I'm so proud of how our team worked together to put together the flood coverage.
Beth sayd she doesn't like this photo because she looks sad.
I love it because this show the real emotion we all felt as the flooding progressed.
Sure, journalists are supposed to be neutral.
But, we're also supposed to be human, and denying those emotions makes us less human.

I don't like this photo either, but if I'm putting others on, I better do the same to myself.
In the photo I'm talking about a boat ride I took with the DNR to see the damage.

When did you guys have to set up outside? They made it seem like you were indoors the whole time.
