This JustIN: Where was the vigil?

Blog by Justin Foss

By Justin Foss

April 17, 2008: Wednesday I told you all I was going to cover the vigil at Cornell College.  I went there, but none of the people organizing the vigil showed up.  Michelle Penn, who we suspect is a student at Cornell sent out a press release.  She never showed up, she didn't even call me back about the event not happening.

The people at the Brady Campaign said they weren't sure what was going on.  I don't think the school knew either.  A reporter from the Gazette was there to cover the event too.  She said she talked with the school's P.R. person and they didn't know much, if anything, about the event.

This is a problem we sometimes face in the journalism world, but not usually when an organization puts out a release like the Brady Campaign did.

As for Thursday's story, I hit the gas prices beat.  I suspect we'll hear more about it this summer than ever before.  And trust me, we heard a lot about it in the last few years.  That's my bet, we'll see what the outcome is in the fall.  Anyone want to take bets?

Wasn't picking on Justin... I neglected to mention that he is the only one who consistently updates it. Not a crack on anyone...just a suggestion :)

Why pick on Justin? If anything he updates his blog the most, sometimes 2-3 times a week.

I love reading the blogs from the TV9 crew...but I'd love to see them updated much more frequently!!! I understand you're all very busy... but why bother having them if they aren't updated for weeks or months at a time?? Just my 2 cents! :)
