Single Tickets on Sale Monday, August 27 for Cedar Rapids
Symphony’s 2007-2008 Season

CEDAR RAPIDS – Beginning Monday, Aug. 27, the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra (CRSO) for the first time will have the capability to sell single concert tickets online. That same day at 9 a.m., the CRSO will begin selling single tickets to the general public for the 2007-2008 season “In Tune with You: Your Life. Your Music. Your Symphony.” Patrons are encouraged to reserve tickets to guarantee seats for Maestro Timothy Hankewich’s second season.

“Finally, we are able to serve our customers better with our capability to sell tickets online,” said Tim Hankewich, music director of the Cedar Rapids Symphony. “We've just made a gigantic leap in efficiency and customer service and I couldn't be more pleased!”

Until now, the CRSO Web site has only provided patrons with information about the organization, upcoming concerts and ticket prices. Patrons can now access all of that information as well as purchase tickets and make a donation through the CRSO Web site (www.crsymphony.org). Patrons can view available seats for each concert and select the exact seat of choice. The new online ticketing system also allows patrons to see photos from each section of the Paramount Theatre and have the choice of picking tickets up at will call the night of the performance or having them mailed to them up to seven days prior to the performance.

Currently, only single tickets for the 2007-2008 season will be available online, season tickets are not yet available for online purchase. By purchasing tickets online, patrons can avoid paying a fee for premium aisle seats, reserve seats of their choosing and purchase tickets up to three hours before a concert without traveling to downtown Cedar Rapids.

Season tickets are currently on sale (not available online) for the Masterworks, Pops, Showcase Chamber and Children’s Discovery Series. First-time subscribers can receive 25 percent off Masterworks season tickets.

The 2007-2008 season will feature works such as Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade,” Copland’s “Appalachian Spring,” Beethoven’s “Sixth Symphony” and many more. The CRSO Pops Series will include the traditional Holiday Pops performances, an upbeat big band recreation of a 1940s nightspot, Club Swing, as well as Madmen Across the Water: The Music of Elton John. Plus, the CRSO will once again offer kid-friendly Children’s Discovery concerts and unique Showcase Chamber concerts.

To request a free 2007-2008 season brochure or to purchase tickets, visit the CRSO Box Office at 119 Third Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, call 366-8203 or 800-369-TUNE (8863), e-mail boxoffice@crsymphony.org.
