Ashley's Angle: The Wedding Blog!!!!

By Ashley Hinson

At last, the long awaited blog!

I’m sorry to take so long to get this up, but I got one of those delightful summer colds and it really knocked me down this week. As of today (Friday) my voice is trying to make a comeback, but in case you’ve missed me on the anchor desk , I’ve been at home wallowing in my misery!!!

But it’s a small price to pay for what joy I have had the past few weeks. I’m now a Mrs.! The wedding in Cancun was totally awesome. We met with our coordinator, Kalena, on Thursday, and went through all the details. What flowers, what cake, which pictures, what music, etc.

We talked through everything with the ceremony, turned over our documents, got our blood drawn (they wanted to make sure we were both disease free I guess) and walked out the door. All we had to do was show up at our assigned gazebo on the wedding day! I was so happy with the Gazebo we were assigned too…It was the one with the longest “aisle”…. Perfect for the processional.

I’m going to just put up a whole bunch of photos below and you can just take a gander…I’ll describe what they are…but trust me, the pictures really are worth a thousand words.  The wedding was beautiful, our guests were happy to be in the Caribbean sun, and I was happy to be getting hitched in Paradise! I have to say Yay Moon Palace!

Here is the beautiful gazebo and aisle I walked down!!! It was called the "Toucan". And yes, the sky really was that color.

And here's me riding up in the horse and carriage! Right next to the ocean!

And here's me and my daddy! He rode with me in the carriage then walked me down the aisle!

Here you can get an idea of my veil and dress. Not to mention the awesome mariachi band playing "here comes the bride" as I walked down the aisle!

Here's us standing at the altar. They had us facing our guests while the judge spoke, so they could all look out at the ocean. How beautiful!!!

Here's us after the wedding! Surrounded by friends, family, loved ones, and our favorite mariachis!!!

Our beautiful wedding party! From the left...my friend Meredith, my sister Piper, Me, My hubby Matt, His brother Jason, and his friend Dan. Good lookin' bunch!!!

I love this picture. Me and my girls! Notice the BEAUTIFUL flowers on the sand as well. They did a fantastic job!

And here's a closer up look at my makeup and hair and flowers. I loved loved LOVED the way I looked. I would describe my look that day as Grace Kelly meets Barbie.

So there you have it! Enjoy the photos, I know I enjoyed the wedding! Matt and I got married on August 25th, and on August 28th we got our puppy. No doubt, the "Bogey Dog Blog" will be next!!!
