I want to take a minute to blog about some changes you’ve likely seen here at TV-9.
We’ve definitely seen some major shifts on the morning news staff in the past months, and some new faces! Chris Earl joined me on the Anchor desk from WEAU In Eau Claire in the end of April, and jumped right on in to life in Eastern Iowa. He’s an immensely talented Author (check out his website… ChrisEarlBooks.com) and manages to be a true family man. His family is expected to move down here after his son finishes Kindergarten… We’re very excited to have him on the show!
Also a new face, Sara Stewart. Can I just say this girl and I hit it off immediately, because her very first day, she walked in with a purse that matched mine. Needless to say, awesome. She’s a great reporter, which is really the more important fact to convey here. She also comes to us from Wisconsin. You’ll see her covering breaking news and the news of the day on KCRG TV-9 Mornings…but she’ll be doing a little bit of everything around the station too.
So anyway, in the past few weeks, my life has been tumultuous. I’m happy to report things are calming down… I actually got to go to Des Moines at the end of April and see the WONDERFUL MICHAEL BUBLE! His voice is just like “buttah..”
The wedding planning is coming along as well! I went home for Mother’s Day weekend and mom and I worked out the wording for our invitations. I am wearing these really cute flip flops with my dress, seeing as I have a beach wedding. Very fun! So things there are moving along as well!
I also wanted to tell you more about the “Sump Pump Massacre of 2008.” Basically, thousands of people, including me, lost power Sunday night into Monday morning. I was standing there brushing my teeth, thinking about getting ready for work since I was up anyway…when I realized my sump pump was no longer pumping water. Needless to say, I could now be the poster child for Battery Backups…I need one! Anyhow, My fiancé and I were up the rest of the night bucketing out water. I would say it was a fun experience looking back on it…but not something anyone wants to have to deal with!
So there's a bit of a rundown of what's been up lately. Busy bee...that's me!
I've got a blog that's kind of been in progress for a while on Amy Winehouse. I'll hopefully get that one up here soon--so stay tuned!!
