Three People Injured in Maquoketa ATV Crash

MAQUOKETA, Iowa - Three people were injured in an ATV crash Thursday night, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said.

Officers were called to 6766 Caves Road, Maquoketa, around 6:37 p.m. Thursday. It was determined Bruce Bollinger, 19, of Maquoketa, lost control of an ATV as he drove it at what sheriff's deputies said were high speeds. He was thrown off of the ATV in the crash. Bollinger was taken to Jackson County Regional Hospital.

His passenger, Nicholas Baker, 21, of Leisure Lake, was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Another passenger, Alex Erickson, 19, of Maquoketa, suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Charges are pending.
