One Man Dead After Striking Semi-Truck Head-on Near Guttenberg

GUTTENBERG, Iowa - The Clayton County Sheriff's Department confirms one man is dead following a head-on collision on Hwy 52 this morning near Guttenberg.

The Sheriff's Department said 48-year-old Colin Shultz, of Hampton, Minn., crossed the center line and struck an oncoming semi-truck at around 11:40 a.m. approximately four miles north of Guttenberg.

Shultz was air-lifted to Guttenberg Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck, 57-year-old Roger Frick, of Waukon, was also taken to Guttenberg Hospital for possible injuries.
