SAGEVILLE, Iowa (AP) — Dubuque County authorities say a 32-year-old eastern Iowa woman escaped after struggling with a man who said he was going to sexually assault her.
The woman told deputies the man got into her home on Sunday and displayed a knife while telling her about his intent. She says she fled through a bedroom window after struggling with the man.
Her hands were injured during the struggle, so she was taken to Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
Deputies later arrested a 46-year-old man, Rodney Hodges, at his home on charges of burglary and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse causing bodily injury.
He was treated for an arm injury and taken to Dubuque County Jail, where he remained in custody on Monday. Online court records don't list his attorney's name.
