Phone, Internet Services Restored in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Landline phone & Internet service has been restored to the Dubuque area after a fiber line was severed Tuesday.

The outage, which began around 11 a.m., affected Internet and landline phone service to the Dubuque area, including 9-1-1 service for the city. According to CenturyLink, the damage happened south of Dubuque and was caused by an excavator.

911 service was impacted by the outage, emergency calls were routed to the Iowa State Patrol post in Cedar Falls for a period of time.

Service was restored at about 3:30 p.m.
