MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - Counterfeit money has been reported recently in at least three Iowa cities

The Mason City Police Department is warning the public about counterfeit bills.

Police in the northern Iowa city say a counterfeit $10 bill and a counterfeit $20 were taken by local business. The printing legible and the bills were the right color but there were problems with the paper, the security strip and the lack of a watermark.

In the northeast Iowa town of Dyersville, counterfeit $20 bills have been reported.

The bills have no watermark or security strip.

A counterfeit $20 bill also was reported in Creston, which is in southwest Iowa.
