Cell Phone Prank Causing Problems for Dubuque Police Department

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- A new cell phone prank has caused problems for the Dubuque police department. So far the police have reported one case but authorities say this prank runs nation wide.

The prank involves texting a random individual with the phrase: “Hey ,I hid the body now what do I do?!” " What starts out as something funny or that a person perceives to be funny can ultimately evolve into a criminal charge. ” Said Lt. Scott Baxter of the Dubuque Police Department.

Depending on the nature of the text message, a prank text, may result in harassment charge.
