CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa –Cedar Valley Habitat for Women’s Build is breaking ground on a new home.

Cedar Valley Habitat for Women’s Build partnered with Lowe’s in order to make this dream a reality for one family.

The Habitat house is the first of it’s kind in Cedar Valley because it is built exclusively by women volunteers and Lowe’s employees. When completed a family of seven will be the new home owner.

“Just to see the excitement on the family who is going to get this home, and know when you are working in the community and giving back and a group of women coming together to do this.it’s just so exciting. ” Said Patti Kunz, Resource Development Manager

The homeowners were also to participate in the building of the home, which is expected to be completed in eight weeks.
