DYERSVILLE, Iowa — Gov. Terry Branstad has signed into law a package of tax incentives designed to spur development of a $38 million youth baseball center at the Dyersville site where "Field of Dreams" was filmed.

The field’s new owners Mike and Denise Stillman say the Governor’s signature gives them the green light to create what they’re calling “the all-star ballpark heaven”

The measure Governor Branstad signed gives the owners a sales tax rebate up to 16 and a half million dollars. Owners say this measure is key to attracting investors.

The all star ball park heaven is expected to create more than 500 jobs and bring almost 50 million dollars to the local economy in the next three years. Denise Stillman said, “I bet they’ll be a lot of investors from in the Iowa area who we will bring out to the field, explain what it so. So we will bring potential investors to the field so they understand what it’s all about. ”

Wayne Ameskamp lives near the Field of Dreams and is a former field owner. Ameskamp previously spoke out against the project said he had no comment about how Thursday’s developments will impact his family.
