DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — Dubuque officials say a blocked line caused a sanitary sewer to overflow, sending untreated wastewater onto the ground near a manhole in an undeveloped area on the city's south side.
The city was notified of the overflow Tuesday afternoon. Crews were sent to the area and the line was cleared.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says residents, their children and their pets should stay clear of the area, which is posted, for 48 hours.
