Waterloo Police Seize Gun, Pot in Traffic Stop

WATERLOO, Iowa -- Waterloo police said they found marijuana and a loaded gun during a traffic stop Tuesday evening.
According to a press release, officers with the department's Violent Crime Apprehension Team initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of Hope Street at 11:30 p.m. Police identified the driver as 19-year-old James E. Horton, of Waterloo.
Police said Horton was in possession of marijuana and had a loaded .38 caliber revolver under the driver's seat. Horton was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail, where he faces charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and carrying weapons.
