WATERLOO, Iowa - Two men are now in custoday after police say they tried to steal a backpack full of Christmas gifts from a Waterloo home.
A Waterloo man called police early Tuesday, at about 6 a.m., after he found two burglars in his home at 238 Linwood Avenue.
Police say Ralpheal Williams, 22, tried to jump from a second story window and run from them. He allegedly struggled with officers who chased him, they used a taser to detain him.
Police arrested Nethaniah Gordan, 17, a short time later at a home on West 9th Street after he ran off.
Both men face charges of second degree burglary. Williams also faces charges of interference with official acts and assault on a peace officer.
