Trial Set In Northern Iowa Vehicular Homicide Case

NORTHWOOD, Iowa (AP) — Trial has been set for a northern Iowa man charged with vehicular homicide and operating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Mason City Globe Gazette says 47-year-old Michael Chodur will stand trial on Oct. 30.

Chodur, of Kensett, is charged in Worth County District Court in Northwood in connection with a fatal collision on Sept. 2, 2012. Authorities say Chodur and 57-year-old Lynn Weedman, of Glenville, Minn., were driving east on a Worth County road when Chodur's car struck the back of Weedman's.

Both drivers were injured. Weedman died three days later at an Iowa City hospital.
