DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - The third of three 18-year-olds accused of beating to death a Des Moines man has surrendered to police.

The Des Moines Register says Kent Tyler III turned himself in on Tuesday morning.

Tyler, Yarvon Russell and James Shorter, all of Des Moines, have been charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Richard Daughenbaugh. The 40-year-old Daughenbaugh was found severely beaten in a parking lot near the Center Street bridge on Aug. 25. He later died at a hospital.

All three young men remain in Polk County Jail, pending $500,000 bail each. Online court records don't list the names of their attorneys.
