Suspect Identified In 2012 Chickasaw County Murder

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa - The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office has named a suspect in a 2012 murder.

In a news release, the sheriff's office said 41-year-old Randy L. Patrie is a "viable suspect" in the death of 71-year-old Carl K. Gallmeyer. Gallmeyer was found dead inside his Nashua home on Oct. 4, 2012.

Patrie has been in custody on weapon and burglary charges since July 2013. Authorities have not said what led them to Patrie and will not be releasing any more information at this time. Their investigation is ongoing.
