Suspect in Custody Following Bank Robbery in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa - A man has been taken into custody following a bank robbery in Waterloo.

Just after 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to Wells Fargo Bank, 191 West Fifth Street, for a report of a robbery.

A bank teller reported that a lone white male entered the bank and gave her a note demanding money. No weapon was shown and no one was injured. The suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police located a person matching the description a couple of blocks from the bank. He was detained and taken to the Waterloo Police Department.

The case remains under investigation. No names are being released at this time.
