Police: Stolen Car Involved in Crash

WATERLOO, Iowa - A stolen car was involved in a police pursuit and crash, investigators said.

Officers tried to stop Travis Wright, 18, of Waterloo, at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday. Wright tried to flee from police after a short pursuit. He lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into a tree near the intersection of West 4th and Clough Streets. The vehicle rolled, trapping Wright inside.

Wright was taken to Allen Hospital for minor injuries. He was then charged with eluding police.

On Thursday morning, a man reported his vehicle stolen. The vehicle was the one involved in the pursuit and chase. Wright was also charged with first-degree theft.
