Police: Second Person Dies from Muscatine Shooting
MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) - Police say a second person has died from a weekend shooting at a Muscatine home.
The Muscatine Police Department says 39-year-old Lance Stormm died Sunday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Stormm was found unresponsive Saturday alongside 43-year-old Teresa Rowan at a home they shared. Rowan was pronounced dead at the scene and Stormm was taken to a hospital in Iowa City.
Police say Stormm shot Rowan before shooting himself. The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.
Officers heard several gunshots at the home while responding to a disturbance at the property. They set up a perimeter and called in the SWAT team before entering the home and discovering the bodies.
The Muscatine Journal reports Rowan's death is the city's first homicide in three years.
