Police Say Iowa Woman, Boyfriend Tried To Frame Husband
WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — An Iowa woman and her boyfriend have been arrested on suspicion of trying to frame her estranged husband with a gun.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that the arrests stem from an anonymous call to police on Oct. 30 to report a road rage incident where a driver was reported to have pointed a gun.
Police pulled over a vehicle described by the caller and found a handgun under the driver's seat, which the driver denied owning.
Police say they eventually traced the anonymous call and the gun back to Timothy David Gilmore, the boyfriend of the driver's estranged wife. Gilmore, of Perryton, Texas, and Laurel Foster, of Cedar Rapids, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of making false reports and malicious prosecution.
They could not be reached for comment.
