IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A burglary suspect was nabbed by Iowa City police after he uploaded photos of himself to the victim's Facebook page using the victim's stolen iPod.

Iowa City police officers responded to a burglary on South Johnson Street on July 5. Among the reported stolen items was an iPod, valued at $100. On Aug. 16, the burglary victim contacted police and said someone had been uploading pictures to the victim's Facebook page with the stolen iPod.

The victim told police the photos appeared to be Ladarrel M. Jones, 19, of Iowa City. The victim had previously encountered Jones at work, police said. Photos posted to the victim's Facebook page matched Jones' driver's license photo, police said. A witness also independently identified Jones in the Facebook photos, police said.

Police interviewed Jones at his home on Sept. 13. He admitted the photos were of him, but denied having the iPod. When police attempted to take him into custody, Jones resisted arrest until he was pepper sprayed by officers. One officer scraped his knuckles during the scuffle, police said.

Jones faces charges of fifth-degree theft and interference with official acts causing bodily injury.
