Police: Day Care Also Hit During Drive-By Shooting

FORT DODGE, Iowa - Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left bullet holes in two buildings, the Fort Dodge Messenger newspaper reported.

Police told the newspaper the shots were fired in the 1100 block of 10th Ave. S.W. at about 12:27 p.m. and also hit 1318 10th Ave. S.W., which houses the Calvary Family Center.

A woman inside the day care reported being hit by drywall blown out by the shots, police told the newspaper. The woman was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

Witnesses said they saw a maroon Buick leaving the area after the shots were fired.
