Man Facing Attempted Murder Charge Following Hit and Run
MANCHESTER, Iowa - A Manchester man is facing an attempted murder after a hit and run on Friday night.
Manchester Police were called to the 300 block of East Fayette Street Friday at 11:20 p.m. Someone reported that a vehicle struck a 24-year-old man and then drove away. When police arrived, they found the man lying on the sidewalk. Police talked to witnesses and then arrested Charles Wright, 40, at a nearby house.
Police said Wright and the victim got into a fight earlier in the night near a local tavern. The 24-year-old male was treated for injuries and is expected to be okay.
Wright is facing an attempted murder charge and is currently in the Delaware County Jail on $25,000 bond.
