Police Arrest 3 In Connection With Shooting
FORT MADISON, Iowa (AP) - Authorities have arrested three people in connection with the shooting of a man in southeast Iowa.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says 22-year-old Paul A. Wilkins Jr. has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree robbery in connection with the shooting of 25-year-old Matthew R. Griffiths.
Two other individuals, 23-year-old Heather D. Mears and 20-year-old Terrell N. Wilson, face a first-degree charge of aiding and abetting robbery. The suspects, all from Burlington, were arrested Thursday.
Fort Madison police say Griffiths was found lying on the ground Monday with a gunshot wound. He is being treated for his injuries at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Police have not released additional information about the shooting. Online records do not list attorneys for the suspects.
