WATERLOO -- A Waterloo shooting put one teen in the hospital and two others behind bars.

Police say the shooting happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday on Polk Street, about a block west of Highland Elementary School.

Officers found a 16-year-old with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated and released at a local hospital.

16-year-olds Jalen Hall and Nathanial Whittaker, both of Waterloo, are in jail facing charges of carrying weapons, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and willful injury.
