Multiple Drugs Found In University Of Iowa Dorm Room

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Police said they found marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia in the Mayflower residence hall on Saturday.

According to University of Iowa Department of Public Safety criminal complaints, UI officers were called to Mayflower at 2:39 a.m. Saturday after security officers got a whiff of marijuana coming from Apartment 2. Officers were allowed into the apartment and discovered drug paraphernalia. A search of the apartment turned up marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, a baggie of prescription drugs, a baggie with tinfoil containing a small white sheet, two pipes and a wooden dugout containing a third pipe.

The apartment is occupied by 20-year-old Elaine V. Jordan, a University of Iowa student originally from Urbandale. Jordan was arrested and faces three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
