Men Turn Themselves in After Thursday Incident with Police

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Two men turned themselves in to police a day after an incident that injured a Cedar Falls police officer, according to the Cedar Falls Police Department.

Kevin Decker, 20, and Derek Hertges, 19, turned themselves in on Friday. Both are listed as campus residents at the University of Northern Iowa.

The officer was investigating an alcohol violation on Thursday.

Decker was arrested for interference with official acts, causing bodily injury and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

Hertges was arrested for interference with official acts. He was also given a citation for unlawful use of a drivers license to acquire alcohol.

Decker and Hertges were booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
