Marion Police Arrest Two for Robbery with BB Gun

MARION, Iowa - Marion police arrested two men for robbery Monday night.

According to a Marion Police Department press release, officers were responded to Hanna Park, 775 Fairview Dr., at 7:05 p.m. for a report of a robbery. Officers spoke with the alleged victim who said he had been robbed by two men who pulled a gun on him.

Police said the man ran from the would-be robbers, who were unable to take anything from him. He gave officers a description of the men, as well as a description of the vehicle they were driving.

Three hours later, officers found the suspect vehicle, two men matching the description given by the victim and a BB gun.

Based on their investigation, police took Maurice Dixon, Jr. 20, of Cedar Rapids; and Anthony J. Dean, Jr., 22, of Marion into custody. The men face charges of first-degree robbery, a class B felony.
