Man Reports Being Robbed In Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A man told police he was robbed on an Iowa City street Tuesday afternoon.

According to police reports, the man said he was robbed sometime between 5 and 6 p.m. near the intersection of Stevens Drive and Waterfront Drive. The man told police he was walking in the area, and was heavily intoxicated, when three men approached him from the area near the city's homeless shelter, asked him for money, then assaulted him and took his wallet. The men then fled in an unknown direction.

The victim suffered a minor facial injury in the robbery, police said.

The suspects are described as two while males and a black male, all in their 20s. The black male was missing part of a finger, the victim told police.
