Man Charged in Ottumwa Adult Theater Homicide
OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) — A man in custody on robbery charges is now charged with killing a man at an adult theater in Ottumwa.
Police Chief Jim Clark says Bruce Pollard, 25, of Ottumwa, was charged on Wednesday with first-degree murder in the death of 74-year-old Kenneth McDaniel. His body was found inside Cinema X on March 13.
Clark says an autopsy showed McDaniel died of blunt force injuries to the head and neck and was strangled.
Pollard has been in jail since March 15. He's accused of armed robberies at a Sonic restaurant and a gas station.
Pollard remains in the Wapello County jail on a total bond of $1.3 million. The murder case against him is not on the online court system, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
