Man Arrested to End Standoff at Clinton County Home
CAMANCHE, Iowa (AP) — A 52-year-old man has been arrested after a standoff with police at his home in eastern Iowa.
Camanche police say a neighbor of the man and his wife reported an incident Saturday afternoon.
Officers say the woman had been stabbed by her husband and was being held against her will. Police say she was freed when police arrived and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Assistant Chief William Lodge says the man, Arthur Walker, then barricaded himself inside his home. Lodge says Walker left the home after about an hour but was holding a kitchen knife. Lodge says officers used a stun gun in arresting Walker.
A Clinton County jailer said Walker remained in custody on Monday. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney.
