Le Mars Man Pleads Not Guilty in Hit and Run Death
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - A 50-year-old Le Mars man has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the death of a motorcyclist who died after a hit-and-run crash.
The Sioux City Journal reports Todd Ross entered a written plea Friday in Woodbury County District Court. He's charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Police say Todd Ross struck 69-year-old Jerry Graves on May 17 after running a stop sign in Sioux City. Ross, who officers say fled the scene, was arrested after later hitting a tree.
Graves, of Sioux City, died at a hospital 10 days after the crash.
Ross remained jailed on $100,000 bond. His lawyer filed a motion Friday seeking a bond reduction.
A trial is scheduled for Aug. 6.
