Man Charged With Destroying Property While Under Influence Of Synthetic Drugs

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Police said an Iowa City man caused $1,500 worth of damage to a residence hall and removed all of his clothes, all while under the influence of synthetic drugs.

According to the University of Iowa Department of Public Safety, 18-year-old Owen G. F. Geiken broke a large glass window, a smaller window and a fire extinguisher case before removing all of his clothes on Nov. 8.

Police said Geiken was under the influence of synthetic drugs.

Police said Geiken had to be restrained and taken to the hospital for treatment. He has been charged with second-degree criminal mischief.
