Insanity To Be Argued In Ottumwa Murder Trial
OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) — Defense attorneys have said they will be arguing that Bruce Pollard was temporarily insane when, police say, Pollard killed the manager of an adult theater in Ottumwa.
The Ottumwa Courier says jury selection is scheduled to begin Tuesday for the trial of Pollard, who is charged with first-degree murder and robbery. Investigators say Pollard entered the theater in March last year, struck 70-year-old Kenneth McDaniel with a pry bar and choked him.
Police say Pollard has acknowledged killing McDaniel, then stealing cash and pornographic material.
