Farnsworth Appeals Murder Conviction
MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) — A Waterloo man has appealed his second-degree murder conviction to the Iowa Supreme Court.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports that 23-year-old James Farnsworth II filed the appeal Thursday seeking to vacate his conviction and sentence. Farnsworth was sentenced last week to up to 50 years in prison for the 2012 stabbing death of 23-year-old Ian Decker.
A hearing will be held before the Iowa Supreme Court in Des Moines. A date for that hearing has not been set
