Dubuque Man Takes Plea Deal in Child Pornography Case
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A Dubuque man accused of having sex with a teenage boy during a mission trip to Haiti pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal.
Federal court records show Robert Buss, 50, pleaded guilty to one count of child pornography last Thursday. A sentencing date has not been set, but the charge carries a minimum sentence of 5 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years.
Buss was arrested in March of 2013 after police say he admitted having sex with a teenager he met during a mission trip to Haiti. Buss had organized several trips to Haiti through St. Anthony's Catholic Parish in Dubuque.
