North Liberty Drug Bust Nets 3/4 Pound of Meth, $10,000

CORALVILLE, Iowa - Police said they recovered pound of meth and $10,000 cash during a drug investigation early Friday morning.

According to Coralville Police criminal complaints, members of the Johnson County Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Agency made contact with 40-year-old Donald L. Engstrom, of North Liberty; and 38-year-old Arizona man Breely M. Durham at a North Liberty residence at 1 a.m. Friday morning. Police said a K9 officer alerted to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle the men had been traveling in.

Officers searched the vehicle and found 346 grams of methamphetamine and $10,000 cash.

Police said the men admitted to driving from Arizona to Iowa in order to sell the meth they had with them.

Both men have been charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, a class B felony; an Iowa drug tax stamp violation.
